Without notice. Without explanation. This is DRM at it’s worst." I thought Amazon was better then this and had learnt from the 1984 (George Orwell's) dramas. What is worse, is that 'violation' or 'abuse' is can be nebulously defined. Technically, Amazon could wipe your books because you said something they disagreed with politically when reviewing a book on their site. I have a big problem with companies like Facebook, Twitter and such believing that they have a responsibility to enforce a moral code. I have a problem with people saying they should do that, and they should police morality. I don't want businesses thinking that THEY are the ones who get to define what is acceptable or not, but as more and more of our life is stored and mediated by profit making entities, they are naturally going to exercise greater power over us. Why wouldn't they?

Have seen some followup posts: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/why-did-amazon-close-a-womans-account-and-de... http://blogs.computerworlduk.com/simon-says/2012/10/rights-you-have-no-right... I haven't read in detail yet, seems to be pure speculation. There is also this: https://p.6core.net/p/hx5voap6k84ndcrn Where Amazon try to claim the story is spam. Assuming this URL isn't spam itself :-) -- Brian May <brian@microcomaustralia.com.au>

If the transcript is accruate then it's from an Amazon employee who's not qualified to comment. The other links were interesting though. -- My Main Blog http://etbe.coker.com.au/ My Documents Blog http://doc.coker.com.au/
