I find google calendars quite useful for this kind of thing. You could create a calendar for software freedom events then share it with people on the mailing list.
Thanks for the suggestion Michael. I've published an iCal events calendar file for the upcoming meetings though. (I take a fairly purist stance and avoid "software as a service" like Google Apps)
