inaugural meeting of Free Software Brisbane
Hello all, Let's have a meeting! It's been over a month since linux.conf.au wrapped up, so I must apologise for not moving on this sooner. When? Would a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night, three or four weeks hence, suit a majority? *Please* let me know what times suit, even if you will not be attending the first meeting. As a starting point, I propose Tuesday 20 March, starting at either 6pm or 6:30pm. This is very much subject to change. Where? The Edge at the State Library has been suggested; it is central and public transport options abound. Other suggestions are welcomed; in the meantime, The Edge is probably a good default. What? I propose that at our first meeting, attendees will introduce themselves and give a brief spiel about "Free Software and Me" - how you learned about free software, what free software you use, projects/campaigns you're involved with and so on. If anyone would like to do a talk/presentation of some kind, let us know, otherwise I will give an overview of current campaigns of the FSF (and sister organisations). We can also discuss ideas and potential topics for future meetings, the schedule, getting the word out, etc. --- So, let's have some feedback about the time and place, and please spread the word! Regards, Fraser

If nothing has been decided on yet, I'd vote Thursday the 22nd or any other Thursday in March, any time in the evening.
