[free-software-melb] SA 18th of August — More Planning for Software Freedom Day

Hi everyone, This month at Free Software Australia we are continuing the planning for Software Freedom Day in September. This month we will be reviewing the responses we've gotten from our outreach so far. We will also send out some speaker requests from the committee email account. This event will be a working group primarily aimed at the organisers of Free Software Australia and community members interested in getting involved but all are welcome to come along and learn about how we prepare for the event. [free-software-melb] Software Freedom Day 2022 Expressions of Interest

Hi everyone, This year on September the 17th we're going to be celebrating Software Freedom Day across Australia. Our theme for the year is reFLOSSify online communities, schools and workplaces. It's a broad topic and we'd love to have talks about how Free and Open Source Software can help us to build communities, contribute to and improve teaching experiences, and how we can use FOSS more in the workplace. We are reaching out for anyone from the community interested in presenting on these or similar topics. It could be a full presentation, a small lightning talk or a demo of your favourite FLOSS software. You could talk about how your group uses or contributes to Free and Open Source. You could explore how the 4 Freedoms are relevant to education. Or if you have another burning topic you think will fit with the event, let us know. If you're interested in getting involved please send your expression of interest to committee(a)freesoftware.org.au.
